In 1981 my brother and I were invited to a meeting in Fruitland, Idaho to a Full Gospel healing revival. There was a man there who was preaching that seemed to be well known, but being a new christian I really didn’t no who he was. The meeting was in the evening, and there were people lining up for prayer. The weeks prior I had tried to go to the dentist and get some work done after my wisdom teeth were removed, and found out that I was no longer eligible for dental coverage off my parent’s plan, being 19 years of age. The last few years my brother had extensive work done with braces, so some of what I needed had to wait.

Nevertheless, I really wasn’t thinking about it that night when we went to the meeting. I just felt like I needed to go up and get prayer but really didn’t know what for. The man approached me as he worked down the line and asked what I needed him to pray about, I told him I didn’t know but felt to come up anyway. He prayed for me and oddly enough he prayed for cavities to be filled. Well, after the service my 15 year old brother and I drove home and stopped at a convenience store and bought a couple cokes. Not realizing anything was up. We sat around the apartment talking. All of a sudden I thought of the prayer, so I walked up to the mirror to look at my teeth. What I saw floored me, I couldn’t hardly speak, my brother came up and looked, and he could not believe his eyes. Four beautiful, brand new fillings blazed back at us in my mouth! They were not quite gold nor silver but looked like the color of both metals fused together. I thought I had only one tooth that needed work because the side of it had a dark pin point hole that was now gleaming with this precious metal filling. We were awe struck, not ever experiencing such a tangible (right before your eyes) miracle before.

My pastor also, received a miracle that night, his was a cross shaped filling in one of his back bottom molars. Later, a dental assistant in our church looked at the fillings and remarked that she had never seen them look quite like ours. Years later, my dentist remarked how well done my dental work was, and a Christian dentist examined the material used and could not figure out exactly what the fillings were made of.

Some people have the gift of the working of miracles, and we only need to receive when they pray for us. Other times we need to stand on the promises of God until we get the miracle we are petitioning Him for; the latter can take a lot of persistence but that is called exercising our faith. I refer to this as a miracle instead of a healing because it required substance out of nothing to form and fill the cavities. Either way, it is the Lords good pleasure to bless His Children. All glory and honor to Him!

1 Corinthians 12:4-12
New International Version (NIV)

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them … to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
