Fire In the Canyon Dream
I was standing in a house that had large windows looking down over a canyon. The original occupants of the house were gone, other people and I were briefly visiting the house temporarily, it was like we were passing through. We just happened to be there together although I wasn’t with them, and they were not with me. I saw that down the canyon a small puff of smoke emerged out of nowhere, not too far away as I was looking out the window. I fixed my eyes on that direction and sure enough it grew in size and the wind whipped it up into billows of smoke. I mentioned to the people in the house that we should evacuate. While I was looking for items to help us in what was clearly going to be an emergency evacuation on foot, time had gone by, and the fire had advanced to the driveway, burning everything in its path. The overseer of the people in that house from ages 4 to 40 was just standing there at the window quietly biting his nails. I couldn’t understand how no one could detect this turn of events on their own, we all had access to the windows, they took up one full wall of the home. Eventually, the fire reached the corner of the house, and it became fully engulfed, right outside of where the leader of this group was, standing there looking out the window. Doing nothing and saying nothing the whole time. I didn’t know these people and they didn’t know me, I had nothing to do with them but a moral responsibility to help those that were too young to help themselves. Meanwhile, I had been looking for boots and back packs, trying to get everyone ready while the majority of the people were talking and laughing around the island in the kitchen, letting the one man at the window do all the watching.

I could have left at the first hint of trouble, but I was going through closets and storage rooms looking for boots and backpacks. I found boots and it was easy to get the younger people to put them on. I couldn’t leave them. Try as I might this house had no provision for an emergency, and I found little else that could help us. I was surprised that I could find no containers to hold water in and ended up walking around trying to herd everyone out and away from the direction the fire was spreading, with an open glass flask in my hand with drinking water in it, to take on the journey. Finally, we started out the back door away from the front of the house that was on fire. The man at the window had a NAME in the dream and when I looked up the etymology of the first and last name – I kid you not, his first and last name put together in its origins meant Crooked Church! The word iniquity comes from the word to twist bend or be bent, or that which is crooked! We live among an apostate church that is iniquitous in these end times.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life. Php 2:14-16

Some leaders of the flock are not preaching words that will spring the Body of Christ into action, or awareness of the times. Nor are they teaching them how to hear and how to respond to the warnings and instructions of those set in the church who are there for the “Equipping of the saints” Eph 4.

The message is loud and clear, we need watchman who will sound the alarm. The house is on fire, and there is no plan of action for a people this dream represents. The ages of 4 to 40 is the span of a generation. We need our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace, for the terrain ahead! God’s word and his preparations are paramount for us to be able to navigate any unexpected turn of events and circumstances ahead of us. Because God knows the end from the beginning. But there we were in a place that had nothing to offer us for that journey ahead, are we ready to meet God, are we ready to endure to the end? Is this the condition of an emerging generation of believers, indifferent to the age and its unique state of affairs? There was nothing in that house’s storage to pull from. The group in that house had a leader that didn’t seem to know how to communicate what he saw coming, and was at a loss on what do, he was leading in a house where the previous occupants left nothing for the next people after them to utilize in a difficult set of circumstances in the days ahead. Do you see the prophetic picture here? Not only do we see a parallel of a struggle of God’s anointed among us called the seers and prophets of God, who have been warning the sheep, but leaders of this generation are not acknowledging that voice among them, nor responding themselves. They are not warning the masses of what they know and see, this leader type is not “booting” up the sheep to get them through the woods!

We were forced to go into the woods to move away from the fire. Not the best escape route but the only one we had. For whatever reason there were no cars to race us a way, we were going to have to walk it out. We waited too long to respond to the development of events, and that has left a generation unprepared. God is warning each and every one of us to listen to him, it’s our responsibility to look and see for ourselves. Many hirelings and false prophets are leading their followers and congregations astray, I don’t know what this man was thinking. Was he thinking that God would show up at the last minute and rapture us all away? Not realizing that many look for His return, yet must be ready to endure in the evil day? Was he in denial of the pending disaster? Was he a blind guide? This group was CLUELESS! Sometimes we have to understand that the Lord alone saves us from death, His leading in our lives is personal individual and complete. We must learn to hear His voice when all other voices are absent, mistaken, or unrecognized, because ultimately, we all have been given the capacity to hear from God ourselves. Seek Him and you will find him, reliance on man alone will fail you! If we are blessed enough not to be among those in the dream I call FIRE IN THE CANYON, then you are in a state of watching and praying, for we DO NOT KNOW the day or the hour of our Lord’s return, but I do believe we know the season. If you read this through, do you have your armored boots on? Do you have your armor on of Eph 6? Let’s keep the watch let’s warn and pray! Jesus is King of Kings He is the Truth the Life and the Way.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6

“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” – Proverbs 22:3

“Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 2:36.
