Rip Tide In The Black Sea

I know I’ll see my body raised
I’ll overcome this dread
I know I’ll see His mighty army
In the resurrection of the dead.

Couldn’t you have prayed one hour?
In high waves I’m tossed, and overcome,
Couldn’t you have just kneeled next to me?
I’ve lost equilibrium …

I’ve lost my footing in the waters
On the shores of a Black Sea,
At mid night the tide’s cold laughter,
Cackled at fame and taunted me.

I looked for my companions,
someone close, none there to be.
In silent desperation and weeping agony,

I’ve lost my footing in the Deep Waters,
Its tide pulled me into a Black Sea.
The eleventh hour’s cold fingers slip through,
Its a rip tide’s draw for the damned!

Could you have not waited one hour?
Couldn’t you have leaned in with me?
Could you have not waited one hour?
Equilibrium is lost in what’s left of me.

I know the deep sigh of the betrayed
The staggering realization of being alone,
While soft breathing of sleeping companions,
Lay rested against the garden stone.

Choking in the deep, here I kneel
If they could know and come to me,
Though to pray, they may not still,
A soul dredging search in a Black Sea.

I’m on the damp ground, no waters near,
Still tossed in in the deep, can’t face fear.
Equilibrium is lost in what’s left of me.
I only wanted the warmth of one hour.

I know I’ll see my body raised
I’ll overcome this dread,
I know I’ll see His mighty army
In the resurrection of the dead!

Rise up now oh my soul
And face this northern wind!
Dark night of the soul
Let’s do this once again!

Peace is your gentle touch,
It shields the tossing waves-
The Angels came and stood me up,
Bless the God who saves!

Wood the beam I lived to die
For Earth born, there went I,
Now my rage I can’t deny
The JUDGE come, JUSTIFY!

I have a score with the abyss,
Who swallows men who’ve gone amiss …
An arrow is hidden in the Black Sea!
Deceived to think that I can’t see.

I told you once I’ll tell you twice
Love was never sugar and spice,
It’s a cold long wade through
A deep dark chill, ending death,
at Calvary’s hill.

See, now the sun has gone down full,
Moon light shines’ the horn of a bull.
Tourists visit the place of the skull.
Arrows hidden in an iron hull.

Let us pray.  2/5/21
