Job 33:15-16 In a dream in a vision of the night when deep sleep falls upon man …

Dream Journaling. Clothing we wear in our dreams, and color.

If you remember clothing in a dream- then what you or someone else is wearing has significance to the message of that dream. I don’t believe every dream has a need to be interpreted. But I do believe the Lord can seal up instructions to us in a dream, in the midnight hour. Because that’s what the scripture says He does. The biblical way of interpreting a dream is not breaking it down in symbolism. Although symbolism is important, the true biblical way of understanding a prophetic dream is through the God given gift of interpretation, and prophecy. However, understanding symbolism is often in an interpreter’s arsenal.

Anyone can compile together information on dream symbolism, but it takes a spirit of wisdom working with the gift of interpretation, to apply a dream in God’s order. This is the Kingdom way to minister a dream’s message by the one who inquires of the Lord for its meaning. Any other way, is considered equivalent to seeking out magicians that peep and mutter for an answer to a dream, vision, or mystery, given by the Lord of Hosts. In other words psychics, mentalists, spiritists and spiritual guides are a counterfeit to what God has ordained to view or interpret His messages. These alternate sources that seem to ring true at times, or are (seemingly) right, never lead anyone to repentance, or the power of the shed blood of Jesus, that cleanses us from sin. God’s standard is the biblical standard.

Many times I’ve been sent a dream I thought could never be understood, but I would take it to the Lord any way, just incase. Nothing would come to me and I have to admit at times I’ve said to the Lord, “Why do people send me these silly, nonsensical dream?” But, I would go to sleep and the next morning wake up knowing the dream’s message! When God unlocks a mystery no one can deny it. It is biblical to get the meaning of a dream you’re trying to interpret, from God, in what Daniel of the bible called “visions” of the night! In other words “sleeping on it” has biblical merit! Anyway back to garments and color. One of my most popular articles discusses the color black in dreams. I’ve had thousands of people land my page searching for what wearing black means in dreams, and on the meaning of windows in dreams.

So I want to talk more about what black clothing in dreams may imply, so that you can take it to prayer if you’ve ever been stumped by such a dream. The reason I choose this color is because it could be the one that needs the most prayer. Often, when people see themselves or someone else wearing black it represents sorrow, mourning, heaviness, famine, lack, judgement or sin. What the person is doing in the dream gives context to the mood, and their emotional condition. The TYPE of clothing can be to what the dream may apply. Work, school, church, at home; or away from home; recreation ect., The KEY is that clothing can be taken off and replaced with another wardrobe; therefore, what ever the dreamer’s condition is, that condition is subject to change.

It takes intent and the WILL to change. Sin, sickness, sorrow, famine, and disease are all remedied by seeking the one who is our life. Jesus died that we might live, He was beaten with many stripes that we may be healed. Thirst and famine of soul and body is remedied through Him. Jesus feeds our soul- He is the bread of life. A black garment could represent spiritual famine- our deep need for the bread of life. What ever the need is our Father provides for His sons and His daughters. Doubt, fear, and unbelief; even a famine of the Word of God, clothes us in lack. We can put off all of these things by pressing on in CHRIST. Even if it is reflecting a natural need, God is our provider, the Father is ever saying to us, “Come to me.”

So when we are wearing black in our dreams our garment, normally, is in need of change. God wants us to know how much more He wants to clothe us with kingly garments. Ephesians 6:11 tells us to PUT on the full armor of God. We have to take the time it takes to strap on our gear, and make sure it’s on correctly. Again, clothing is what we choose to wear, so living our lives haphazardly can show up in a dream when we find ourselves in a business meeting with our pajamas on! Reminding us to start living our lives with intent.  Prison clothes belong to captives, a fireman is putting out fires; if we forgot our pants at home and we are sitting in the class room, we may feel naked and self conscious about learning new things; we may not feel ready for the task ahead.

As circumstances are subject to change, however, so it is when we are frustrated with our wardrobe. We can change what we need to change with God’s help. Our dreams open our eyes to see a more perfect way, or to confirm our way is being perfected by Him.

Luke 12:28 If God clothes the flowers in colors array so carefull, that are here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will He clothe you- oh you of little faith?

What Windows Mean In Dreams

  1. Hi Deane, I just learned of your website and Remnant Nation Radio thru Beverley’s website blog Becoming the Oil and the Wine. You write beautifully. I downloaded your latest podcast to listen to later. I added your website to my phone desktop. Looking forward to reading /hearing more. I’m just starting out writing comments to blogs and was invited to blog on Beverley’s site. She said she’d publish what I wrote, which I thought was very gracious of her. Usually I just post comments as the Holy Spirit moves me. Thank you for “liking” my post on Becoming the Oil and the Wine blog website, otherwise I would never have come to your site. I clicked on your picture and here I am.

I believe we are in the end times as Jesus described them to be when He said “this generation shall not pass away until all these things be fulfilled.” (Matthew 24:13), I refer to it as being the Fig Tree Generation since Israel is symbolized as a Fig Tree in scripture. We are the Remnant Church, and God is looking to find us as His mighty men and women of valor ready for battle with the Sword of the Lord.

    God bless,
Susan Morgan (Lily of the Valley)
